Music Tuition
The school provides a high quality music curriculum based on the requirements of the National Curriculum. Children regularly listen and appraise music. They compose individually and as part of a group using a variety of traditional instruments as well as using computer technology to capture, edit and combine musical elements. We hold an annual Arts Festival where every child performs as well as being a showcase for some of the school's exceptional individual performers. As part of our COVID-Recovery Plan all children in Key Stage 2 (2021-22) will receive tuition from Trafford Music Service free of charge. The children are loaned an instrument to take home and practice for a term, culminating in a performance at the Extraffordganza, where our pupils perform with professional musicians and other pupils from around Trafford. In recent years the children have been taught to play the oboe, bassoon, ukulele, trumpet, African drumming, samba drumming and saxophone.
In addition the school has a strong partnership with Xeno Music. Xeno are a team of professional, reliable and dynamic performing musicians who provide high quality tuition at an affordable price.
Xeno’s highly qualified teachers are all recruited from a conservatoire/Academy background, and are mainly trained through the prestigious Royal Schools of Music and specialist Performing Arts Academies such as RAMDA, LAMDA and LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts).
